Explore Kente Coffee Shop London

Tucked away at 16 Sydenham Rd in southeast London, Kente Coffee Shop London is the kind of place you stumble upon once and then keep returning to without hesitation. From the moment you step inside, there’s an immediate sense of warmth-both from the inviting interior and the genuinely friendly service that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The coffee here is consistently praised for its rich flavor and careful preparation, and if you’re not in the mood for caffeine, their hot chocolate is just as satisfying, offering a comforting, indulgent alternative. What stands out just as much as the drinks is the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere; it’s the sort of spot where you can linger over a cup without feeling rushed. Prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially considering the quality, making it an appealing option compared to larger chain cafés or even some trendier artisan spots nearby. There’s also a charming, slightly unpolished authenticity to the experience-like the occasional hiccup with the card machine that’s handled with honesty and good humor rather than stress, adding to the café’s human touch. Whether you’re popping in for a quick takeaway or settling down for a quiet break, the ambience strikes a perfect balance between cozy and lively, with just enough buzz to feel energizing without becoming overwhelming. It’s easy to see why many people choose this as their go-to coffee stop in the area, drawn in by the combination of quality drinks, approachable prices, and a level of hospitality that feels increasingly rare in busy city neighborhoods.

Amazing coffee! Unfortunately George's card machine was working very slowly in the morning so he told us it's OK but we never got charged in the end! Definitely coming back to drink more coffee and pay our initial bill :)

Really nice coffee shop with a warm welcoming atmosphere and great coffee and hot chocolate, I would definitely choose to come here over other places in the area. Very affordable and friendly customer service

Always enjoy popping in for a coffee. The ambience is lovely, and the service is excellent. Great prices too! A nice alternative to another artisan coffee shop or chain

Call me old fashioned but the simplicity of the way in which you can feel welcomed, calm, relaxed, fed and watered is done best in the way that George serves everyone at Kente Coffee Shop in Sydenham High Street. Great little place to visit where time slows down nicely.

Really lovely coffee! I am really particular and hate coffees that are overly milky. The coffees were perfect, if I was local I would be back everyday nice vibes to and lovely artwork on the walls. Also proper fresh orange juice that was amazing!

Wonderful calming atmosphere - nice furniture, good lighting, Classic FM gently playing. But not the place to go if you're in a rush! I visited a couple months ago and will return soon. The owner makes lovely strong coffee (I had the macchiato, so I'm sure there are gentler brews!) and takes great care in making sandwiches to order. He's an elderly guy so he's quite slow, but I didn't mind at all. And all for such a low price that I forgot I was even in London!!

Good place for filling snack & drink. Owner always has classical music playing in background. Irregular visit for me & friend. Never crowded so ideal lace to visit, also usually has daily paper for quick peruse.

Very sweet local cafe. George, the gentle owner, is always here ready to serve you while classical music plays from his little radio. Opens until later than most cafes in London. Prices are cheap. A hidden little gem! Hard to find places like this nowadays. Strongly recommend.
